Cool project! You have done mega work. Strange that a ball bearing turbo died, one hot shutdown shouldn't have done it. Why do you have a second restrictor on the oil feed? There is a restrictor in the turbo body. Make sure that you aren't starving it of oil or you will kill another turbo.

new parts today

oil cooler that im going to run water in for the turbo

Posted Image

fittings for the setup

Posted Image

had a bit of a mare getting it all sorted, the new cooler is going in front of the oil cooler as im more concerned about water temp over the oil temps as they have been too low if anything

ive had to flip the oil cooler over and move it back towards the dry sump tank then weld some tangs onto the chassis to support it

Posted Image

both in there roughly

Posted Image

mounts welded and cleaned up

Posted Image

primered ready for painting

fogot to update this thead,

car going to dyno

strapped down,

mapping was done at track n road in essex, i know the guys there well and have allways dynoed my engines for me be it in the car or on the bench.

had afew issues on the day and had the boost controller fail so we didnt get as good result as we could have but ill go back at some point to have it perfected i think.

results were good for the boost pressure, 335bhp and 262lbft were the highest seen at around 1 bar engine has plenty more to give but the gearbox and axle dont so power capped to that for now

vid here

graph

car is driven on the road only on low boost so far as i want to get used to it, to be fair its near enough pointless for the road.

there is far less drama than i though, at 250bhp it puts all the power down with no issues once on boost its unbelievable and quite violent as you will see in the vid clips below.

took the mrs out to the pub in the week, gave it a cheeky 0-insert number here test first time ive lauched it with turbo power, looking forward to getting more used it it!

had a engine issue turns out a damaged piston ring.

so all the engine has been stripped and inspected everything is all within tolerance which is good news getting a fresh lick of paint and going back together

while i had the head off i had larger exhaust valves with 3 angle valve seats cut with a little more headwork to reduce turbo lag and increase the power.
