So Courteney should be able to do both things at the same time. Cheap scrappy ecu, ring and chip from a Vectra. Send the ecu with the black ecu to courteney. They do magic then you get them back :)

Will CS not copy the black map to the white ecu for a small fee? Can that dutch chap do it?

Yes, but CS is easier. Sounds like stuwy had a custom map, and not a basemap. Just ask Cs to slap on a 7k max basemap for 200, and refinalise when you have time.

Maybe CS will go easy on Stuwy on the pennies.

Stuwy has a custom map from CS, which he has already paid the dyno time/licence for. They should have his map on file and they shouldn't have to bother Klassen as no actual mapping is taking place, just flashing the map on to the ECU

the Vauxhall contact has told me that to wipe the ECU it needs to be on the original car. So that now means I need a new ECU, transponder set..

:beat:

that is probably true for the latest CAN equipped cars, but not the vx220.

The only ecu in the vx220 with the chassis number inside is the engine ecu, later CAN equipped cars have about five ecu's which talk to each other and must be matched.

I had a secondhand vectra B ecu coded to another transponder and keys by a dealer tech 2, it was not a problem.

when me and Kevin were faffing with the Car last night the transponder ecu thing had a Vin in it..?

I also I don't uinderstand what you just said, ignoring the fact my car does not move, If I took it to a dealer they could code it to the transponder for me?

that still means I will then have to send my ECU to CS anyway, so considering I can get a already paired set of Flidbay for £40 I don't think it will save me any money..

this is true for a modern vauxhall (probably most 2005 onwards vauxhall cars) - it must be in the original vehicle so that it can be unpaired from the other ECUs in vehicle.

But a 2000 year vauxhall does not need the engine ecu to be in the original vehicle - because it is only matched to the immobiliser + key chips, which can all be replaced and matched to the ecu.

A dealer should be able to match your transponder and key chips with a dealer tech 2, but it will cost a few quid  thumbsdown

assuming I can get hold of CS i'm going to be getting a new ECU, I think that is the best cost effective solution

Good news and bad news.

Good news, as long as the new ECU has been blanked "zero'ed" on the original car, CS can flash it VX220 and copy my old MAP over for £150. Not too bad I guess, as I don't actually have a choice.

Bad news, They need my VX there to do it..

Does anybody have a basemap ECU (and transponder :beat: ) or anything with a SC map I can borrow to drive myself up there? Long shot I know but I'm open to any other ideas :)

I don't like to ask but I have no choice. My green flag cover is only free first 10 miles. I might get a quote from them to take me to CS but I'm expecting it to be very expensive.

That is a fair price! thumbsup How far from CS are you? Is a one way flatbed trip out of the question? Any chance of putting a standard belt on it and driving it down NA?

If my learning serves me correctly... cant drive it N/A as SW's ECU is in Onyx so don't have it anymore and cant use Onyx's ECU coz it wont talk to SW also cant take out the SC because... of something lol

Nothing to stop you joing the AA for £100, just make sure they will take you anywhere you want to go before you pay.

Disguise your voice when you ring back seconds later.
