What silencer are you using there? A dual pipe absorbtion item which you pass 2 times? (does that even work? No "internal short-cut" where the gasses take the short turn?)

Regarding yourtie rod it looks great and this is a common solution
so my question is, why dind´t Lotus do like this from the wery beginning.
Hi would someone be so kind to edit my earlier post and insert this pic instead of (need to take pic) in the top post on this page thanks.
The pics of the driveshaft does look quite angled but as mentioned they are sat at theyre lowest point without suspension. Ive taken some more pics with the suspension on and at different points in its travel.

Yes its a dual pipe absorption box and im no expert but i have seen that other people have used them like this to great effect. Its similar to the mugen honda boxes used on the s2 and ive also seen porsche aftermarket boxes made in the same manner but with the bend internal i wouldnt imagine that with the bend being on the outside it will be any different....What silencer are you using there? nice to see you still check in sim. No probs and will doBeen a while since I checked back here but nice to see it still progressing at a decent pace. I should have offered you a discount on the car for a return of your welding skills. Got a holey e36 I need patching, lol. Def give me a shout when done, would love to pop down and see it!

Are you fabbing that dual pass box yourself, or buying it off the shelf please? If the latter, would you mind posting a link to the item. Thanks.

Ah, interesting...
Been thinking of such a dual pass box to give the SC's some silencer length in a small space, but thought the possible internal shortcut would make this a useless design.
ps, which box is this pictured

Is there any need for the u bend in there? If the two perforated sections are open to each other aren't the gases going to travel straight out the shortest route? I would've thought it is redundant and only added weight?...
The path of least resistance, not necessarily the shortest. If the innards of my silencer are anything to go by, the gases barely get outside the perforated tube (and only then because of how the gas initially enters the silencer) unless there is a restriction in there to encourage them to pass out into any stuffing within the silencer.

ur right mangham they arn't exactly lined up as well as we would have hoped for, but this was the best position possible. Thers no room to move backwards or downwards which would have been ideal...With regards to the driveshaft my concern wasn't in the vertical movement on it's own, but the combined vertical and horizontal angles combining - as the driveshaft looks to have to make up for the gearbox not being aligned to the hubs.

Exactly the same with the VAG conversion, you just have to settle for the best you can reasonably get it. Mine has been fine although a certain amount of mechanical sympathy does help, I feel.

although its the SC NA cars that seem to get through driveshafts and gaiters quicker
