it did!!

On a water logged Snetterton, everyone was saying I had to get out and get more confidence in the car!, so peer pressure and I went out chasing my friend in his TT engined Elise

It will be back though I've been doing the repairs myself so taken time, hope to get it ready for respray by end of the month

While on the topic of respray's. I was considering a change but I can't decide on a colour I love that much to justify the extra cost. I don't like the idea of having some of hidden parts still silver. It's just feels like a half done job. So I think I have convinced myself to stick with plan old silver.

When rubbing down the rear clam, it had 5 layers of resprays of various shades of Mandarin!

The front clam was a different shade to the bonnet and that was a different shade to the rear of the car

I'm going to stick with an orange of some type but dont think I'll go back with Mandarin again.

Looks like I might be losing a bit of weight, well the car, not me.

I didn't realise how heavy the standard intake manifold is, these pic's are without rails etc.

OEM intake manifold - 4.5kg

EDS manifold - 2.1kg

I'm not sure if this will be enough to offset what I'm go to gain, as I'm off to Vegas in a couple of weeks :-)

Does anyone if I will lose some more weight by switching from Gaz Nickels to the Quantum zeros? As the quantum's feel lighter than I remember.

Little update

Got the seats back from DTT, had the drivers bolster repaired and passenger lumbar support removed.

Here's what the drivers looked like:

And back in the car, it's a perfect match on both material and stitching

Then been busy with the interior,

Dash covered.

Side pockets wrapped in CF, along with the binnacle and part of the new airbag. Also fitted slightly bigger/better tweeters than the standard ones.

All the CF wrapping will match my dash plates and sill's which are also wrapped. The sills look like this:

Arse

I let my dad borrow my spare car for a few days, while his was in the garage, he is a named driver.

He stuck it in a ditch last night, another write off  :ffs:

No one is hurt, just his pride

Annoying the car (focus 2.0 tdci) 200 miles ago had new discs, pads, calipers, 2 front tyres.  2000 miles ago new clutch and dual mass flywheel.

Good news there is paint on the VX :)

Picking it up later today

I couldn't find a colour I really wanted and therefore couldn't justify the colour change.

I was tempted by bright orange, but IMO the VX gets enough looks as it is and I quite like silver/black combo.

I'm not going to have it for long though, it's off to MBR's tomorrow for all the suspension work, intake mani, remap, etc.

I'm keeping the pressure on, as I have booked a trackday later this month!

If you think it gets looks in invisible silver you'd be shocked how much people stare when it's orange!!

I've already got an upgraded one (forge I think). I also have a bigger secondary recirc from the top hat to the intake pipe. I found playing with the spring in the secondary recirc makes a lot of difference.
