Just thought I would share how much further a head this 2.4 is compared to mine 2.2

Cobra = 2.4 stage 3 cams 2.7 pulley
Chill = 2.2 stage 2 zzp cams 3.1 pulley

Posted Image

Ignition levels are currently quite even ( minor differences ) but wonder how much of this is down to water meth

Wondering again; why is Chills power dropping of a cliff after 7.2K, while the other keeps climbing till 7.8?  The Harrop SC and the standard intake manifold clearly are not causing an obstruction, and with comparable ignition numbers and no detected knock... ???  :ffs:

I had some play yesterday with Dominique's 2.0 M62. (Wideband learning was not working as it should...)

But his measured powercurve was climbing  or steady till the 7.4-7.5K limiter. No dip around 7K...  :wacko:

iirc the 2.6 on M62 required trimming the snout.

Not sure if the same for the harrop.

Get your self a Gen 3 block nick Vocky has one

I do have a GEN 3 A20NFT engine available, only done 20k :D

So that will be a reinforced 86mm bore block then with the cast in liners. For sure you're not going to destroy that with some Darton sleeves?

(I have a Gen 3 LE5 bottom block; 88mm bore; <8K. B) )

Putting sleeves in an A20NFT makes no sense at all. Less stabilty, thermal conductivity is lower and the surface is softer than the plasmacoated Silicium. The problem with every highpower sc is the parasitic drag. A 500 bhp Turbo engine has about 40 bhp parasitic loss. A 500 bhp sc engine has over 150 bhp parasitic loss. Which results in over 650 bhp mechanical load to take for bearings, rods, crankshaft etc. Also the thermal load is much higher. The question is - as always - how long will it work or how long does it need to work. 1 Powerrun for a big dyno figure? Probably. 402 meters for a 8 or 9 sec pass? Perhaps yes. One fast lap on a racetrack? Could already be the end of it... Half an hour WOT on the track? No. A trackday weekend? Never ever.
