I've got a good selection of jubilee clips in my toolbox.

If .org could do something for us it would be to wish a decent sized cloud to appear on Friday for Ledenon. I know you probably want to kill me for suggesting that but my car is melting piece by piece. Someone blow something our way please.

No cloud allowed at Ledenon. It is the most punishing of the 3 circuits in the heat on both the car and driver, and you will even get a free hot meal at lunchtime 😄😄 Look forward to hearing your views on the circuit afterwards. IMO it is the nearest you will get to being on a roller coaster in a car 😎😎, enjoy 👍

Right, that was a day wasted. The hose isn't long enough to reach the piping so I've been looking for a join all afternoon. Tried garages, plumbers, the French B&Q type thing and none of them could help. So tomorrow it's Ledenon then Saturday I'll try find some copper piping to pop the two rubber tubes on and clamp with jubilee clips. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That should be available at any of the larger DIY/bricolage places as copper pipe is sold here in all the even sizes from 6 to 22mm od and 16mm od is a standard French size normally used for bathroom supply.  Have you tried Weldom or Bricomarche, both have branches in Orange.

Yes I'm going to Weldom tomorrow for some. Should I be worried about getting air bubbles in the system when unplugging the hoses? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No, the flow from the water pump alone will be enough to bleed the system, just check the header tank after a couple of minutes of running and top up if needed (if you're only using water now, be sure to add concentrated coolant soon as it helps with corrosion as well as lowering the freezing point)

If using a plain piece of tube, ie not barbed like a joiner, you 'd best double up on the jubilee clips - you're hot enough already without boiling water all over. Happy travels ☺

Cheers for all the advice on the bypass. Just got back and showered. Ledenon is a simply awesome track. For those of you who've not had the pleasure imagine the best roller coaster in the world (minus upside down bits!) and you've pretty much got it. Just so challenging, you can't stop concentrating for a nano second or you'll be in the gravel / Armco. So much elevation, compression and camber and just brilliant corners. The car was epic. I found my rhythm early on in the second session which is very unusual for me and that meant I could just enjoy the day. Apart from the heat. That was just ridiculous. No shade, high 30s, jeans and a hoody on (FFS I'm getting a linen short and trousers if I come back) meant that you got out your car after a session looking like you'd been for a swim! Rich in the Exige suffered worse. Turn out the garage didn't fit his heat shield so he's just cooking. For once I was quicker on track. His excuse was the heat and he didn't want to push it. But I did leave him for dead :) So, to the bar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The heater matrix is busy and it spews vapour into the cabin when stationary. The rear o/s calliper is leaking. There is a massive droning noise when going through the gears at certain revs despite changing the gearbox oil out here. The indicators have stopped working (relay shagged)... but it's still going!

I love the plastic shitbox. Other people love it too - I've had countless people taking photos and videos wherever we go and so many frolic people have commented on the colour. Watch another VX get the same paint job after this :)

We stayed up late getting pissed with the Dutch guys last night and Ben looked like a balding Eminem cos he'd been spraying his hair all week. I came down to reception just now and the hotel owner said that someone had left something for me...

I laughed hard!

Really gonna miss Dominic, Ben, Mattias and the other Dutch speedster owner whose name I forget. Top, top blokes.
