Maybe it's worth skimming a bit and put a thicker HG on or possibly get rods that are a bit shorter? Cometic have quite a range of thicknesses for the Z20, maybe they also have them for this block.

At closer inspection the the marks are not proud and it has had a slight skim i think they are where the water ways are on head etc when i get my head gasket i will check .
Neil will be able to tell me better i will pop it over and let him have a look

I have seen worse on the latest Saab B207 engines, they are not really an issue because the gasket does not need to seal in that area

Cool thats ok then There response
Yes sorry for the misunderstanding, all of our engines were based on used core blocks, it is the last year that we started using new blocks for the 2.0L engines because we purchased a few hundred 2.0L LDKs.

That's a proper bodge approach. You would deck the block and Pistons together and use a normal gasket.Maybe it's worth skimming a bit and put a thicker HG on or possibly get rods that are a bit shorter? Cometic have quite a range of thicknesses for the Z20, maybe they also have them for this block.

700bhp??
550bhp x 900kg = ~610 bhp/Te
345bhp x 1,160kg = ~300 bhp/Te
