i rang them yesterday and they said they haven't got the tool yet for cutting the filters, it was supposed to arrive last week but didn't. And I thought scissors would do it! I was told at least a week maybe two. If they tell you they are going to send it this week, don't sit in waiting for the delivery man. It'll be weeks rather than months, but they wouldn't say how many. I ordered mine about 6 weeks ago.

Any more feedback Ouija? Does this mod just increase the airflow, and/or the temperature? If I bought the kit, and took it to a garage - would they be able to fit it? Thanks.

Well mate, yes it does improve the air flow and the temp certainly seem to be better. The big plus is the filter as well. I use mine daily and over the past two weeks when I've set off for work at 6.30 AM I've had on fan on speed "2" with the dash vents open and no crap all over the dash/car. Now if you stick your hand over one of the vents, you're not going t go "fuke me that's too hot", but it is an improvement over the standard, and has certainly kept me very warm, and gets rid of that peice of crap silver tube which looks like the YTS boy at Lotus designed it. Again ref the air flow it's not going to pin you back in the seat, but in every area it is an improvement. (short of getting a new heater assembly at big big ££££££££££££££££!

eeerily enough had a phone call from revotec today (you must be phsycic) have received the foam and hose, and are just waiting for the cutter, so should be all there now.

Ref fitting, if you have any common sense (don't mean to be rude :), but you really need no mechanical or technical knowledge-that after all is one of the design criteria, in that you don't need loads of special tools to fit it!) it's about a 45 min job. After that cleaning the filter should take no more than 3-5 mins!! If you wanted help, I'm more than happy to assist anybody. I work in Portsmouth, and am based in andover Hants, so am willing to stop off any where en-rout if you are really stuck, (HTH)

Thanks as always

Rob

Thanks for the reply Ouija. If you could help me fit it for a bottle/two of your tipple, that would be absolutely fantastic. Really kind of you to offer. I would come to you.

Does fitting this mod override the fiddling recommended in here click or should one do these also? Sorry about all the questions!

Thanks again.

I would just check and adjust the heater flap control as a matter of course whilst fitting the kit (5 min job), then once the kit is fitted thats it, apart from occasionaly hovvering out the filter, say every month when you top up the washer bottle etc (again two minutes).

When you get your kit, if you give me a PM we'll arrang a day to meet, and you can pop down to me for an hour and I'll give you a hand.

got mine yesterday. fitted it in 10 mins, great unit, much more heat. Bit of a new rubber smell a the min, but that will probably wear off. Definitely worth having, had to turn the heat down this morning. Thats a first.

So, as today has been the first really cold day - have you all noticed a difference with the heater output?
