Mines just arrived via Parceline thumbsup

Quality looks excellent, just hope it improves air flow and heat especially for those cold mornings!

Judgeing from other peoples its just the ticket.. :)

Those who have fitted.. the taller part in pic 3 with the filter in it, is this the side you attach to the heater matrix?

Some pics..

if you attach the taller part to the back of the dash as it were, it is much easier imo to clean the filter in the future. otherwise you'll be poking about around the brake servo forever more......... :beat:

How do you clean the filter. Mine came today and the filter seems to be stuck in? I thought it was meant to be removable in some way? Martin s

Correct. That's how we designed the fit, to aid access. Also, if you don't, you won't be able to clean the filter properly, as all the crap will be stuck on the other side of the filter which you can't get to!!!!!!!
Regards the filters not being removable, the guys at revotec decided to stick them in place, as on my working protype, we held it in place with mesh, so the new method just dispenses with that. Regards cleaning, simply un clip, and hoover off the "inlet side" of the filter, and re clip the filter housing!

All fitted.. Very snug fit indeed.. thumbsup air flow is defo improved a little thumbsup Ive not been out in the car yet, but the pipeing will defo insulate much better and therefore get better heat in the cabin especially in the cold weather.. It also looks so much better in that area now that crappy tin foil affair has gone! I might just give it a clean now! :gayfight: With the pipe conected to the matrix/blower only.. i switched the fan on... on my god!! the amount of debris which came out! LOL!! I'll have to make sure i check it frequently now & give it a hoover! Cheers Nick chinky chinky

Nick, sorry mate, probably not clear. Doh! I quite agree, the air flow isn't a massive improvement, but with the heat gains it all helps. thumbsup. (Glad your pleased with it :) ). I just thought n1k_ns was a bit dissapointed at the air flow only being improved a little, as you had stated in your post. Didn't want to give the wrong impression that the flow is now going to "blow your socks off!", and people to get the wrong impression of the kit. As you say the combined heat and airflow gains combined, although not massive, make the heater now wholly more useable. I feel one of the greatest gains, is that you can now put the heater on full chat and not get covered in dead flies, grass and grit!! :D. This in it'self allows a greater air flow from the heater.

Sorry n1k_ns if I you felt I had given that impression in the past, but feel my reveiws have been very honest and stated the gains honestly. If not I appologise :beat: .The people who have fitted so far have all been pleased which is great. Didn't want someone to buy it and think it's crap, that wouldn't make me feel too good as I've been instrumental in setting the whole thing up.

Not at all mate, dont worry! I was slightly dissapointed with the 'improved a little' comment but only because i was really hoping this would 'solve' the heater problem. Its great to have such honest comments though thumbsup I may well still get one. That Elise I have been driving has a fantastic heater/blower, its on par with my Mini Cooper! Its 100 times better than my VX one :(

Nik Out of curiosity would the elise unit fit the VX? (Or is it indeed the same unit??? or a cheapy Vauxhall substitute?)If so if I could find one at a breakers I might be tempted in conjunction with the new MOD I have. I feel the only way to cure the problem 100% would be to exchange the unit, but the upgraded MOD from Revotec does I feel go a long way, and is a very good and cost effective improvement.(Particularly in terms of asthetics, build quality and filtering, and does as stated above go some way into offering good heat gains). However, as we all know nothing short of fitting a new unit will cure it for good! Rob

The heater unit in the VX has a sticker on the side that indicates it's a Lotus part. Buy a new Heat Exchanger from Elise parts and swap it. thumbsup

Just a thought.. Would the elise perhaps have a slightly different layout / more efficient ducting layout under the dash??? narrower more direct tubeing to the dash vents? the dash top of the elise is slightly different in appearance?? On the vx.. when you open the corner vents up the middle 2 loose alot of power which could be caused by badley designed ducting? If its a lotus heater / blower part we have, surely they wouldnt go to the extent to develop a better one for the same job in there elise?? Cheers Nick chinky chinky

Out of curiosity would the elise unit fit the VX?

I think the Elises with A/C have a completely new HVAC setup which is apparently a significant improvement. I doubt it would be (easily!) retro-fittable though...
