Have you got that sexy looking splitter on yet?

Errr, no. That would involve lying on the cold, hard, potentially wet ground underneath the car and therefore isn't near the top of the things I must do before I die. I'll get there one day or, more likely, somebody else will do on my behalf. :)

oooooh cant wait to get it fitted now. Its going to be like a tropical paradise in my car :D

Where is my grass hula skirt!

A tropical paradise in mid-winter maybe. Mind you, saying that, the amount of water in mine at Bedford in December could easily have been confused with the Amazon rainforest.

Sounds good, a job for the summer then :)

My car is like a rain forest at the moment, since I left it for 2+ weeks it is so damp inside and it just wont dry out :(

As soon as I wipe the windows the mist up again :(

The CD even keeps on jumping as it has condensation on it!! :beat:

I'l say again that I'm really pleased with this mod (and Ouija Board's handiwork fitting it Imnotworthy ) - most of the time I have to turn the heating down or off because it gets too stuffy (I do have a hard-top) thumbsup However, has anyone had it long enough to be able to say how long it takes for the rubber smell and taste to go, because it's making me feel  (bearing in mind I have the heater on for an hour each way of my commute)? Thanks.

Mine doesn't whiff at all. Probably a testament to the fact that the air flow is so sh!t that even the odour can't be provoked to move. Either that or it's never warm enough to release the odour in the first place. :(

Has anyone who ordered theirs last week got it yet? :( Also what is needed in the way of tools to fit it, is it just a screw driver to tighten the clips?

All I used was a flexi-shaft screwdriver, a Stanley knife and some fairy liquid.

Simply yanked the old aluminium tube out. Broke the new kit down into it's two halves. Tried fitting the longer part to the vent through the firewall into the interior but it wouldn't fit. So used the stanley knife to cut the manky old foam wrap and some form of tape from around the old vent. It then slid on okay with a bit of twisting.

Now for the more awkward bit. Could persuade the other half with the hose attached to fit on the vent from the heater box, so undid the jubilee clip and fitted the aluminum collar with the ease (used a couple of bits of masking tape to hold the jubilee clip in place on the hose). Took a bit of pushing down to get it firmly on. Then tried for a few minutes to try and get the hose back onto the collar but it wouldn't happen. Decided to lube the end of the flexi tube with a bit of fairy liquid and it went on first time. Needed to twist it around a bit until I could access the jubilee clip to retighten. Then came the fun bit of mating the two halves. At one point I didn't think they'd join together but with a bit of persuasion they clipped together happily.

I'd take some pictures but I'm up in Chester with the Audi at the mo. Must have taken 20 minutes to do and only lost the skin from one knuckle which, based on my patented skinless knuckle scoring system, makes it an easy job thumbsup

Whooooo it came today :groupjump: Just in time for the forecast snow tomorrow! I think I will give it a go at fitting it at lunch time as apart from a sharp knife and some washing up liquid it looks fairly tool free to fit! £98 does seem like a fair bit of money for what it is and I cant help but feel a bit cheated but if it improves the airflow/heat situation I will be happy!

Right, I have just driven home with it on and I have to say I am not that convinced at the moment, the air seems hotter but the airflow seems a lot lower end result, I was colder than with the std pipe as my std heater wasnt that bad. To be fair though it is quite chilly out there at the moment. I am at a bit of a loss as to why it is not an improvement, when I got home I opened the bonnet and the metal parts of the kit were very hot to the touch Imnotworthy I guess the true test will be dimisting/defrosting the windscreen tomorrow as it bound to freeze tonight. I think I also need to double check it is fitted tightly/properly at the weekend. Chris, where did you get that pipe shape fan thingie from?

you lot imo are frigging mad, do u really think thats going to give u any more heat that a well insulated standard pipe? no... i have masked a normal pipe with gutter tape and it doesnt loose any more air than that 100 pound rubber pipe... seriously i can give u guys better ways to spend your money.

If I cant get it to work any better I think that is what I am going to do, pad out the std pipe with loads of gaffa tape + mabe some boiler lagging/insulation.

I was amazed when I saw the P&P cost! James - how long was your journey? All things are of course relative, but I'm surprised you don't notice a difference, but then if your journey was like 15 minutes - I wouldn't expect you to. There is a huge difference for me in temperature (not sure about flow), but it does come into its own on longer journeys.
