Wouldn't mind the VW DSG box myself, had one in my Golf and what a gearbox that was. However, this is still an impressive extension to the VX mod range. Keep up the good work vocky, paving the way for the rest of us thumbsup

For £200 quid for a slipper, i would def put on in whilst the box is on the bench thumbsup I don't have an lsd/atb fitted, but my friend has one on his turbo and he rates this as possibly the best mod he has done to the car, even over the td's/ap's and chargecooler. And seeing/feeling the difference its made to the car i myself would definitely go for one... although i would probably like to be seeing power like yours before i did that (mine is an NA) Guy

The OBX items ?

after some research I realise not to touch an obx diff, it seems they are made very cheaply in a far eastern country, probably from choclate

so the quaife atb diff would be the only option, still it would be a very easy swap on the M32 box :)

will you be doing many miles in the vx?

if so i can whole heartedly recomend a Plate type diff (gripper, tran-X etc). As Ive found Torsen diffs to be snatchy and to not really be of much use.... but it is a personal preference really.

Hi vocky, here's the box I was interested in
CLICKY

The seller's mobile # is on the ad. Might be worth ringing and asking about his experience with it and his VXT, he sounded like an obliging chap... not sure if he (Scott) hangs around here.

I have made the 12mm spacer for the clutch slave cylinder, the dual mass flywheel is deeper than a standard z22se item  Driveshafts - brand new Lotus europa shafts seem the best value for money, half the price of vauxhall items :) gearbox mountings - again new Lotus is the best option not sure when I will get around to starting the conversion, still building up the pile of parts required :sleepy:

a quick update, kevlar clutch fitted, M32 box fitted, lotus driveshafts fitted, gear linkage almost finished - just need to adjust it and fit a spring to the reverse slot. tidying up the engine bay whilst the clam is off, so not quite finished, I had to order an astra M32 gearbox bracket as the vectra bracket is the wrong shape for the lotus mount. should be done by next weekend :groupjump:

The Quaife diff is is Courtenays christmas offers list - not sure how much they are normally tho

"Now available from Courtenay Sport, the Quaife ATB differential for M32 gearboxes. A direct replacement for the standard Vauxhall differential, the Quaife ATB differential transforms your car's performance, making getting the power down onto the road easier, for improved traction and driveability.

Unlike a conventional plate-style limited slip differential, the ATB diff relies on gears rather than clutch plates for its operation. That means it is much smoother in operation. Because of this, the ATB differential never locks harshly with a set pre-load of wheel slip across the driven axle, like a conventional LSD. Rather, the differential automatically biases the torque away from the spinning wheel across the axle, to a constantly varying degree, and never locks.
The Quaife ATB differential has many benefits over a standard open differential, including maximising traction and minimizing wheelspin, eliminating torque steer and snatching in front wheel drive cars compared to conventional LSD units, and a maintenance-free design which retains the standard oil lubrication.

Available now for Astra VXR (Z20LEH), Astra 1.9 CDTi, Astra H 2.0 Turbo (Z20LEL/Z20LER), Astra H 1.6 Turbo (Z16LET), Corsa VXR (Z16LER), Corsa D SRi 1.6 Turbo (Z16LEL)

Retail Price - £611 including VAT. Introductory Offers Available - Call for details. Fitting Also Available."
