Just got back in after been for a "Blast" nice sunny day ( rather drive than internet on days like these)Quite supprised by some of the comments
Ive nothing against N/A 's they were ok for a while, and i know people are happy with them. But times move on' heres a situation
Man has money to by either model . both cars similar condition , one slow(N/A), one fast(TURBO) why would you pick the slow one!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So my post which was about N/A owners being over protective and having a go at Fat Arse turbos at every chance they get, expecially our brothers from over the border was justified
cant see what all the "Fuss" is about
Sports cars are supposed to be fast so i dont want a slow one

I think i should have just agreed with Jon's post and saved myself the bother. thumbsup

....and catmando you'll be amazed to hear i can actually afford to buy a VXT now, just as i could when i bought my NA and i'm still not buying one.....even if someone offered me a straight swap for a turbo in BETTER condition.

Likewise. It was an informed decision when I chose and bought the car and it's one I'm happy to standby now. Regrets? Not a single one.

You might be able to beat me over a standing quarter mile and to my eternal shame, I'll just have to live with that and try and ignore the fact that it keeps me awake at night. Not. :P

Blinkered, shallow minded and pointless comments like that and you wonder why the 'holier-than-thou' comments you feel exist get posted.

Do you actually own a VX or are you just trolling on here out of boredom?

When I chose my new car, driving dynamics took priority over everything else (comfort, outright speed, running costs etc) I wanted one of the purest, useable everyday cars I could find (I would have loved a caterham, but that as my only car wasnt really an option), thats why I chose an NA. I have driven both NAs and tubbys and I thought NAs were more enjoyable to drive - I get most enjoyment through the twisty bits not straights, hence why Top Gears favourite road was the Stelvio pass not the longest straight in Europe. Im not saying tubbys are bad, just not a focused as my NA. Like a mate at work says; anyone can drive fast in a straight line, its the bendy bits that make the difference. chinky chinky To those who drive tubbys chinky chinky To those who drive NAs

Erm, I'm not going forced induction. I'm hoping that once my mapping issues are sorted I'll have circa 210bhp (certainly 200bhp+) from my NA following Vockys old skool developments.

Slightly off topic (lets be honest, I think its time to change the subject) - Techieboy, what mods are you doing to achieve 210bhpish??

One thing that really gets me are all the ex-hot hatch drivers that instantly dismiss the NA as not worth getting as it's no as faster thier insert clio model, in a stright line maybe and if you're new to a vx then probably not on a bumpy b road. But with a little driving experience the NA is as fast a car as you'll need on the road it just doesn't flater drivers.

<--- guilty

if i had known how much i was going to modify the vx i would have got an NA and supercharged it

MAXR's car is just so linear.

I test ate both, and simply preferd the way the Cheddar tasted/crumbled/cost etc Its pure simplicity at its finest unlike these show offy balls of red cheese that you have to peel to get near the good stuff..... It just screams "chav" :ban:

I have no fuel for this fire, but all chese is good. Even the crap american processed plastic cheese has its place of greatness.

VX's are great drivers cars but its driver is the weak squishy bit in the car and regardless of engine a good driver will be faster in the slowest version, whatever that may be, than i would be in the fastest.

Lets face it, its the size of your balls that count, not the stroke of your piston.

I think this argument should be posted to catmando's local "Croozin" site and watch him get spanked by some C20LET Nova owners who are obviously better cars cos they have the powahh! Someone please poke this guy with the banning stick... preferably in the eye. :P

fcukin' hell!!!! I cannot believe this has dragged on for 4 bl00dy pages since this morning!! It seems to have turned into an LD bashing session, sorry I wasn't around to support you LD, but I'm snowed under!! At the end of the day, the assumption that more power equals faster is complete bollox, the squishy organic bit behind the wheel is what'll make a car go faster. Put a Tubby and an NA on a track with exactly the same driver and take an average lap time over 10 laps, and there'll be very little difference, and that difference will most likely be biased depending on whether it's a twisty track or one with loooooooong straights. There is very little animosity between NA and Tubby owners in reality, it's just that threads like this tend open the argument up again. Maybe it's a symptom of the Gran Turismo era guys buying cars, on Gran Turismo, if you can't win a race, just add more power, that'll do it!! I really think we have troll here guys, shall we stop feeding it?

The peeling is the best bit, get to savour and have the anticipation build, like undressing a sexy girlie!

screams chav, my god, you will be saying next mature english is all very well but would be so better with a little pickle just to give it a mild complimentary boost, or supercharge the flavour. My god!! when you can have chillis in your edam to flavour that so so wrong.

Think i will go back to peanut butter sandwiches. Can't go wrong there.
