Here's where we are. Unless anything else goes wrong me and the Mrs will still be going. We are booked into the Best Western for the two nights and then drive down to Folembray on Good Friday. What we do instead of Spa will very much depend on the weather but we might be up for a trip to the 'Ring. Having driven it a few times before I cannot imagine driving it again unless it is both empty and bone dry - not least because I won't have insurance and I witnessed too much grief the last time I was there. Otherwise our wet programme will probably be a book and some
and our dry programme will be some local
, the route to be decided.
It would have been good to still go along if we were having a group jolly for the social side, but the logistics of it are a bit of a PITA as it is, plus i'm not driving so I think if everyone else is bailing then we will have to too

I booked the hotel via booking.com, and they wont give any moany back now, even though I think today is still 8 days before our booking date (8 days is the limit), have rung the hotel but they just say you must deal with booking.com, but they say the 8 day rule is the hotels rule, aaaaargh.
Is this Fabrices time to shine!
I asked about transferring the value but booking.com said they dont do that.
At the moment, Lauren is now thinking of taking my hotel spot and joining up with the vx'ers, but it does seem your all dropping out now like myself.
Martin s
Martin, I will call the hotel again tomorrow when the manager is in, the bloke I spoke to said it might be possible to cancel without charge but i'd need to speak to the Manager. I'll let you know if I get anywhere, unless Fab would like to do the honours?

had a reply on my email and my room is cancell
i don't even know who did i booked with

i know i did book the same way as steve using AA but that was done via bestwestern
i spoke to the manager and everyone who had book via they website wont be charge
all the rest he said to me will be charge

so in case someone is going to throw they reservation away i could take the room for a £5.00 and take my wife to spa

i have closed the business so still can go gallavanting ...

he is insured and if you calculate the cost to closed a full circuit for a month £350000 the insurance is going to love himI bet the truck driver feels like a right plank now.

Flucksticks. All that fuel pump pain and missed Peak District run over the weekend for nought.
My crossing is non-refundable and non-transferable as I "paid" for it with Tesco Clubcard vouchers. So, assuming I'm good to cancel the hotel, I'll (or Jo will) only be £25 worth of clubcard vouchers down. Luckily, hadn't got round to buying Euro breakdown cover. Could be much worse but I was soooo looking forward to doing Spa - moreso than any other circuit. Won't be going to the 'ring on the Friday afternoon/evening as that will mean another crossing. Will see whether Jo fancies a little mini Euro road trip now it's not a trackday but, guess I'll end up binning the whole thing and maybe head up to Scotland instead.
LoT cancelled my Abbeville day in Feb and when I called Eurotunnel they swapped the crossing to another date at no charge. I'd also 'paid' with Tesco vouchers.
