I know I'm new to this forum and so far I've not really contributed a lot but I have to agree with what everyone else has said and extend my condolences for your loss. I'd like to add that after being around cars for over 40 years I've seen and experienced similar things on numerous occassions before, you'll never exactly replace what you had but you will draw on all the knowledge you gathered along the way to make the next project, whatever it may be, even better. Good luck.
P.S. It's true, at least no one was hurt, objects can be replaced, people can't.

Could not have put ib better...

Si

That car was awesome true; but only because of YOU! You did that and as daunting as it sounds right now you can do it all again. I'm sure you'll enjoy a new project as you'd run out of things to do to the last one!

:yeahthat: Never met you Joe, but from what I've read on here, the above just about sums it up.

I know it will become a cat A, but try and buy back the engine and exhaust from the insurance company, the rods / pistons / valves / cams / exhaust / flywheel / clutch should have survived ok and I will build you another engine :grouphug:

So start looking for another vx, you know it makes sense :poke:

Can you hazard a guess to what went wrong Joe? Oil on exhaust? Melted wires? Could it of been avoided? Just thinking as there are quite a few SCs out there now, bad as what has happened to you is, i wouldnt want to see it happen again. Good luck with all the admin thats coming. And excellent idea from Neil chinky chinky :grouphug:

Just seen this and am totally shocked. Many vx's seem to have special effort spent and care spent on them, but yours had more than most and it showed, it was a testiment to you as a person how great it was and I have no doubt you will come out of this with something just as special, whether its a vx or not. Chin up mate. Martin S, Lauren S and all the other S's.
