If they are valuing the salvage at £440 then you need at least £6k cash, ignore the stupid book price, hardly any vx220's sell at garages so the book price is just plan wrong

doesnt the cost of the hire car also add towards the total cost of the claim , which would lower the total payout in the end ?

He's using a 5 litre tin of Dulux and a 8" roller to apply it.
the 8" is a good choice

Just on this: 1. It's good practice to start any car with the clutch depressed 2. Most automatics require you to have foot on brake when starting Following those two principles should allows you to start 99% of cars (Unless you can't find the start button)Lost some man points and had to refer to the manual. 'Press the brake pedal and the clutch then press the Start Engine button'. What was wrong with turning an ignition key?

Wow. Thanks. Re the repairs - one of the benefits of living in the north east rather than the south east perhaps. Anyway, crack on with the dulux jokes I'm just happy to be saving a sh*t load of cash.Just on this: 1. It's good practice to start any car with the clutch depressed 2.
