I was calm. ...... until I realised the car wasn't slowing down and an impact was inevitable. The swearing was quite funny mind.

It's hard to tell exactly from a video, but it looks to me like your car simply didn't steer like a VX220 should. Something wrong with the geo/setup I'd warrant

It was fine at Bedford 4 months later with no adjustments. Here is a a link :

Then a month later at Anglesey it was back to being like a slippery fish. I had it booked into Steve guglieme for a geo but unfortunately the car was destroyed so I never got to find out the cause.

Federal rsr. I tried 3 or 4 different pressures in the front tyres to try and alleviate the problem but no joy. My gut feeling at the time was that the front tyres were getting too hot. Not sure what would have caused this though, certainly not pressure related. Probably my crap diving lol!

Rsr are very temp sensitive But if you get them right it's awesome How did you set your pressures when and what pressures

Always hot temp with an electric pump and double checked with a calibrated gauge. I can't remember what pressures I tried as this happened in 2013. I went several PSI either side of the recommended hot tyre pressures then went out for a few laps then came back in and adjusted then went out for a few laps then came back in then ..........you get the picture.  I do remember being very confident that it wasn't pressure related. I spent along time eradicating pressure issues as it seemed to be the most likely culprit. I don't know if you remember Anglesey but I spent a lot of time there fiddling about with the front tyre pressures and again it made absolutely no difference what so ever. Fact is, I don't think we will ever know the cause as RF03 XVS is now in VX220 heaven sniff sniff.

Because engine aspiration has some link to geometry settings?

Chris is 100% right because they are two completely different cars lol. The suspension set up on my new sc'd vx is far superior to the turbo any way. The only thing I miss about the turbo is the fact that it would spit enormous flames out of the exhaust.

Gutted for you but I think your being a bit hard on yourself mate. Your driving was aggressive but I've seen a lot worse, you seemed to have it under control until the wheel dipped off the Tarmac. Just dial the aggression back a bit and you'll probably end up going faster.

I've been to Bedford twice, Oulton park and Anglesey since the crash. If any thing I've gone to the other end of the spectrum and been driving like a little old lady.

By pure chance a good friend of mine is at Donington today. He said that there might be a vacant slot coming up for the afternoon session. Hmmmmmm.......do I? That would definitely be facing my demons!!!!!!!

Why not, if you want to keep doing track days you have to accept now and again you'll run out of talent. Go and see how you get on, if your not comfortable then go home, but don't get into a race with another car lol.

Hell yes, it was epic. I have re-found both my VX220 and track day mojo. I'll put a video up tomorrow night if I get a chance. I consider my demons vanquished, that's for sure.

Was good to see you again today Pete, car looked to be going well!

First time at Donny for myself today, what a great track....if not a little frosty this morning which kept things entertaining even for us Scots who man the trip down.

It took me 45 minutes to get to Donny, I bet you were knackered before you even got there!

Yeh, good seeing you too. I didn't see much of your car on track but your mates Evora was very nice indeed.

I took it very easy to be honest, tried to focus on getting my lines right and keeping it neat. Here is a vid:
