Or you could buy the Mcguires headlight refurb pack, which includes detailed instructions, liquid, little graded numbered pads & small buffing wheel.
Already got that, use to use it on my MR2, is part of the plan to use it here also.

Halfords have a good selection and packs with a variety in. That's where I went after finding b&q etc didn't go fine enough.
While your out I would also buy some beers. Think you deserve them!
Yeah I know but Halfords are closed I have some wine in the Fridge, good idea!
Thank you B&Q:

Only problem is I have nothing in between 800 and 2500 until halfords opens tomorrow, so I'll try and get it to 800 tonight, I use all the grades in the pack I've just bought and go wet at 800.

240 grit, vertical cross hatch by Richard Fanders, on Flickr
240 grit vertical, had to wet sand at 240 because the diall wet and dry sandpaper was not as good, kept getting clogged and causing deeper scratches. It gets easy the finer the sand paper is.

320 grit horizontal. Horizontal is so much easier.

400 grit vertical, not seeing much difference now, maybe I should make bigger jumps between grades.

600 grit, finally down to a sensible grade of wet and dry. Easier still

I will probably still try and spray lacquer on it for protection, although it's hard to get it smooth.
Bed time now.

I tried starting at 800 wet and dry but could not get the plastic protective coating off which was cracked. No matter what I did the cracking was still visible. So I wet kung fu sanding on it with 60. Now my hands and arms hurt.

12000 grit! Didn't know you could get that. May not even need to polish.
