Are those genuine turbo ears or eltech ones? How did you install them so they are removable? Thanx

There Ultimate carbon ears with genuine vents.

Basically used Dual lock in replacement of the bonder. To remove them now I just have to take the inner wheel arch liner out so that I can separate the two pieces of dual lock with a screw driver as its so strong.

Key is to ensure the surfaces are perfectly clean so the dual lock sticks well enough.

I then fitted two riv nuts and bolts to hold the vent in place.

I take it the NA plate has been removed? Most people do the same as on the real turbo. Fit it with 4 screws. In the rear arch glue on a construction that can fit the 2 bolts.

Removability is key, as these ears get peddeled a lot.

No much progress recently due to my wedding and honey moon but since I've been here I've made a few purchases to keep me busy when I get home! 1st being a Racelogic traction and Launch system and the second a 48ltr PA fuel tank(thanks Joe)

The car was starting to feel a little sluggish so I went out and did a bit of testing tonight. Still making 473bhp. Possibility of a slight boost leak/belt slip(Well spotted chill). Will have a look at this when time allows, will also lok to fit and test the 2.6 pulley..

The the wife decided to go out for the evening leaving me bored with a laptop......so I recontacted Josh at OTTP in the states about my 1900 Harrop request and to my amusement it was in stock!!!! So of course the card came out and I guess we will be seeing the first Harrop 1900 car on the road next summer. That or my engine/gearbox will be in a pile of bits on the floor! If anyone wants a low mileage 1320 this winter give me a PM.

So my new goals.....

  • Remove the bulk head to allow the 1900 harrop to fit!
  • Fit ati damper
  • Target Boost 1.5-2bar
  • Target BHP 550+
  • Fit Coupe Conversion
  • Reduce Revs to 7500 with the 1900
  • Fit Fire extinguisher system!
  • Get some A048's fitted to my Rota Titans
  • Upgrade to obd Pro software to allow safety and switchable maps
  • Fit the Racelogic traction system
  • Brakes
  • Control Arms
  • Diff

Oh man, epic, I can only imagine what the car will feel like with the bigger Harrop and being about 100 KG lighter than mine.

Bonkerz limit finding by yourself, I hope you can stay alive, Britain has always been a great country for making people like you :)

The car is still so so far of where I want/need it to be but people keep dangling power carrots in front of me which I struggle to refuse. This next stage has to be the last stage of engine development, it's more than enough and coupled with the Racelogic it should give me a great one off package and allow others to follow noting that us sc boys can break the 400 barrier if wanted! With the switchable maps system on the pro version I will create two maps, one which is limited to 400bhp by using a reduce throttle opening and possibly a slightly lower limiter, I will then have a full blown map that will hopefully achieve 550+bhp. I have received a bit on inside knowledge that this 1900 on a 2.4 motor in the states with a fairly stock top end made 487WHP@7k before breaking the transmission. That would of course be 500+WHP at 7800rpm. This was all through a stock Lsj manifold with meth injection added for cooking like mine. Boost on that setup was 2bar. I ideally would like to keep the boost a little lower than that but we'll see! Also need to contact Gary at spitfire again as not sure how much more this fuel pump will flow, I'm hoping it will be up to the job!

I'm really interested in how a +550BHP VX would be to drive.

Well people seem to think my car now would be horrible but I find it fine on the road and I imagine I would find it great fun on track. As long as I put some time into the new setup with regards to mapping and the switchable maps I think it will be great!

Will be interesting to see how the 1900 behaves in the low down area.

The 1320 is 54% of the engine volume. The 1900 = 79%

With the switchable maps system on the pro version I will create two maps, one which is limited to 400bhp by using a reduce throttle opening and possibly a slightly lower limiter

I tried this last year with my 1320 setup. Was not very happy with it. Midrange torque is nearly as high as before but uprange is no power. So it feels sh*t when driving with it.

Did the make the throttle curve linear still though or just cap the max opening of the throttle body?

You better control the max boost pressure with the bypass valve. The original LSJ engine/ecu has this controlled with the 2nd connection on the actuator.

Yes. This is my plan for the 2.3litre, too. OBD pro can do a PWM-Output. Perfect for using with a solenoid to control boost!

New Pro Alloy fuel tank arrived today :).....will get round to fitting this sooner rather than later after seeing Joes tank I think lol.

Also brought a new toy for the business today, can't wait to get a shake down booked for it early next year 😬. Available for higher throughout 2017
