Another one... did you at one moment turned the ignition key with the ECU not plugged on its connectors ?

What would that do?

It can block the immobilizer, I saw that a few months ago on a VXT
Only solution was going to a dealer...

What can a dealer do that an OBD and laptop cannot?

Obd reads an ipm serial data loss and there was a dim error. Both of which, I though were codes that could be ignored? Based on reading about them and posts made on here and on z22se.co.uk? Plus I though even with the immobiliser on the car would still run for a few seconds?

Nope. Immobiliser activated, no starty.

May be the key to my last problem then :) Now.... Can this be cleared at home with an odb or do I have to tow to a dealer? It would be excellent to hear good news right now!

No, it needs a Tech 2 dealer stuff apparently when I look at the archive of the french guy that had this specific issue

If the immobiliser is activated, would it not inhibit the starter cranking over or just the spark?

The starter is only activated via the dash "push to start" button and a relay ;)

You may be able to get to it with an OP-COM I managed to sort the alarm on my Astra, not sure if it'll talk the the Immobiliser though

so the only problem you are getting is its not putting fuel through the injectors right? so that leaves it to be either the fuel pump, fuel injectors, fuel rail, injector wiring check all these first, i hope you did one wire at a time and hope you havent mixed all the injector wires up!

Truth is there's still no way to know if this is really the issue and the trip to the dealer may end with no solution

EDIT : I hate car electrics...

It's putting fuel through, it's just not getting a spark from the plugs :(

sorry im getting hugely confused with what you are saying. so fuel is no longer the problem, yet the problem is back to the spark.... so if there is no spark then it could be, battery, coil pack/amplifier, the little capacitor thingy connected to earth on the cam cover, possibly another earth problem somewhere else and finally the immobiliser...

Sorry, i shall try to be more clear. It's putting fuel through, I was told it had spark originally but it currently does not. I have followed all off the earth cables off this system back to the various anchor points, swapped the little black box and back again, changed the coil pack to another and back again and ensured that all the points under the rubber bungs are in good condition for a contact. It has a new battery in it, new spark plugs from cms. Hope that helps :)

Hopefully an easy fix with the tech 2 then? What should I say when I take it down? Is there a specific diagnosis that I need to ask for?

op-com will do immobiliser and alarm. Let me know if you need a loan. WRT the stealer: Just tell them your problem. Most are OK about SC conversions...or the guys in the garage are. The man in a suit at the desk is usually a knob.

Sounds like you've been having some fun :tumble: I'd like to say I could help but I fear I'd be more use with a set of pom poms saying rah rah rah than wielding a multimeter. If you haven't set fire to it by the end of the week then I should be around should you need some random tools or things brought round thumbsup

the injectors +12v supply comes from the relays in the boot, also the fuses in there should be checked too.
