I checked the relays and even swapped in some from another car, as well as checked the fuses. Tomorrow I will check the coil amp is getting any power to it. I am going to take it to the dealers Monday, and if no luck there I will either just cry or just dump it at cms and see if they can play with it and get it working, thought it would be straight forward really, it's a shame I haven't had any fun out of the car before having to go back to work... Next weekend off will be mid October :(

This is a major project Dave, stick with it and all will come good in the end and it will be well worth it.

the ecu will prevent the engine from starting if there is a fault with the tb  I suspect that either the tb or the wiring is faulty (I know you have checked the wiring)

After booking in at drive vaux in bury st Edmunds I was worried. I arrived and literally all the garage workers came out. Clawing over it in a mixture of admiration and sceptical fear. I got them to verify the millage by signing it off and after I explained jacking and how to open the various hatches. I really hope they don't mess it up. We tried two different 68mm throttle bodies, so I assume on that law of averages that it should be ok... Waiting on a call from the garage now.

Just got a call from them. It's not running and they can't get it to start. So now I am stuck with a non working car. Any ideas where I can take it to? I have a trailer today but need to return it today.

I would suggest Courtenays. You are welcome to drop it at mine but I doubt I can do anything you guys haven't tried. Vocky is really your man, if you can talk him into looking at it you may be on to a winner. He is not too far from me.

the earliest I could look at it would be october  you need to check the injector, crank sensor and map sensor wiring back to the ecu plug thumbsup otherwise it might be an idea to replace the complete wiring loom (like Lee had to do, he used my old z22se modified loom and it started ok), I do have one which I could convert, but I need to check with the looms owner how much they want for it

It took me half an hour to explain what the car was, and I tried to explain the immobiliser reset, but they said theycould not do this. I will charge up the battery(vaux drained it) and try the other key. Thanks vocky, will try thhose other checks next. Modified loom would be a good check.

I have a spare loom you could try. It does have one issue that needs checking. Give me a tinkle if you need to try it. Op-com would do immobiliser coding. I'm pretty sure CMS would sort it pretty quick though. They are a good bunch.

Cms have a 5 week waiting list and literally no room to even keep the car around and waiting :( Is anyone available to help? (Pm sent to FLD) -the car allows me to set and unset the immo, so this should imply that it is working? Lights blink several times fir on and once for off.

Its the alarm that flashes the lights if you mean the indicators, iirc.
The immobiliser is the bit in the key/barrel and some code in the ECU that makes sure the 'key' is not just a screwdriver and the 'driver' is not a 14 year old pikey chav scum lowlife with 2 kids, 4 asbos and a council flat.

Hence the need to make sure the wires to the ECU need to be correct. It will control the ignition/fuelling/voodoo based on the pass or fail state of the immobiliser check, if my understanding of it all is correct

The key will have a transponder chip in the case that is used to make sure the key matches the car. So trying the other key will help to rule out a problem with your main key.

http://wiki.answers....r_work_in_a_car But, in all likelihood, all you will end up doing it ruling out a key transponder problem. The issue may still be in the wiring or the ECU has decided to forget your keys.
