Looking good Chris didn't do anything yesterday as supercharging another car , But had a look at it with a few people and basically doing the same but using part of my roll over bar as a seal / gutter . And the hinges I bought will work cheap and light . So will do some bits today when it warms up ;-)

change of plan, im copying lee.

take the original roll bar and chop the fcuker up

Posted Image

doing this meas i can keep the original seals rather than making some, it also means that i can take the hardtop off completley, use the softtop and still use the coupe back.. this was one of my biggest compromises; using a convertible without the use of a open top but this solves it completely. using this means that it will seal 100% as factory.

here is the cut down cover on the car.

the coupe park will have to be modified to remove the lip which is currently on it and i will get a strip of rubber and mount it ontop of the upstand off the rollbar cover this way i will get a seal all the way around.

Just a thought, what are you going to do about the high level brake light? Is it needed for the Mot or is it one of the 'if it's there it needs to work, if it isn't it doesn't matter' scenarios?

Yep, it's an "if it's there, it must work" thing.

I think i'd still want a high level central brake light, if only to give my rear clam a bit more chance with distracted drivers behind me (i should know, i've been one of them )

High level brake light or not, the guy behind you James was dazzled by the reflection coming off your beautiful paint work.

No, i was the distracted driver who hit someone else  (and they probably had a high level brake light) No vx's were harmed in the above incident. It was another Audi, getting in the way of the volvo (which actively it seems, hunted them :P)

ive cut the lip of both sides which slide under the hardtop

Fecking brilliant.
I asume the hinge part can be put between the hardtop and the coupe?
If you also can get the lock part fixed, it's all spot on.
All locked and safe, and fully reversable on resale.

I so regret not stepping into this GB now :(

I was so close to this as well and had the cash in my hand.... fortunately I have one I can go and look at round the corner :poke: :D
